FHSU Rodeo 2024 Hall of Fame Inductees

Joe Hedrick – Hendrick was a founding member of the FHSU Rodeo Club in 1964. A talented competitor at both ends of the arena, he won several all-around titles. Hedrick was an effective PR man for FHSU Rodeo and propelled the Rodeo Club to one of the fastest-growing clubs on campus in 1965. From FHSU’s first rodeo in 1966 through the early 1970s, Hedrick helped provide practice and rodeo livestock, and served as the FHSU Rodeo bullfighter and rodeo clown, even after graduating. He remains a strong supporter of FHSU rodeo.

Colette Graves Baier – Colette earned several championships in her rodeo career, including: 1973 NIRA and CNFR barrel racing champion; 1974 CNFR second place in barrel racing, and a second place finish for the FHSU Women’s Team; 1974 WPRA Resistol Barrel Racing Rookie of the Year; 6-time NFR qualifier; 1974 placed in all 10 rounds of the NFR and won the average. Today, she continues to be an instructor and mentor to cowgirls of all ages.

Dr. Garry Brower – Doc was the faculty advisor for Rodeo Club for 29 years, from 1981 – 2010, and served as rodeo coach for many of those years. Known for his extremely tough animal science courses, Doc was a respected mentor and a master at encouraging students and rodeo team members to excel outside of their comfort zone. To honor his memory, the Doc Brower Scholarship is awarded annually to a Rodeo Club member. Contribute to the Doc Brower Scholarship today.
