Megan Ball ’12, ’14

Meet Megan Ball! She is the Human Resources Supervisor and Benefits Administrator for the Sunflower Electric Power Corporation.  Megan obtained her Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting in 2012, then went on to get her Master’s Degree in Business Administration in Human Resources in 2014 from FHSU.

I married Jason Ball in September, 2017. We have two adopted Australian Shepherds, one named Tillman and one named Bowen. We enjoy traveling to new places. I have been with Sunflower Electric for 9 years, thanks to an internship opportunity.

What do you now do for a living? How did you end up choosing this career path? I work for Sunflower Electric Power Corporation as the Human Resources Supervisor and Benefits Administrator, and I will be promoting to HR Supervisor in January. I worked here all through college, as an intern, and I loved the company. My job opened up right before graduation and I applied and got the job.

Why did you choose to attend FHSU? I went on a few college visits, but ultimately the price, location and size is what helped me with my decision.

What are your favorite memories from your time as a student? All the friends I made, and of course, meeting my husband!

What advice do you have for current or prospective FHSU students? Enjoy college! Since I am in HR now, I also have to advise them to build their resume with internships and experience.

Tell us about someone at FHSU who has left a lasting impression: Cole Engel and Jess Heronemous were two of my professors who took the time to get to know their students personally. They advised and encouraged me and my peers, and I am still excited when I get the opportunity to work with them now.

In what ways are you proud to be a Tiger? I think I am more proud now, having the chance to look back at all of the opportunities and connections it brought me. I also get the unique opportunity to watch my husband raise money to help students afford a college education.
