I am a partner at Werth Wealth Management, working as a financial advisor. I work closely with our personal wealth clients and our employer-sponsored retirement plans. This career originated through the finance program at FHSU and an internship opportunity with Werth Wealth Management during my Senior year.
Why did you choose to attend FHSU?
I was drawn to FHSU based on the proximity to my hometown of Colby and the reasonable cost. It wasn’t until after graduation that I appreciated the quality of the education provided during my time there.
What are your favorite memories from your time as a student?
I enjoyed witnessing the campus transform during my time at FHSU. In my freshman year, we had “Tailgreat” in the dirt lot north of Lewis Field, took classes in Davis Hall, and had marching band practice in the grass lot west of the President’s house. By the time I graduated, we reserved tailgating spots in a concrete lot under the shadow of a state-of-the-art video board, the applied tech building was up, Davis Hall was on its way down, and the grass field north of Malloy had become my parking lot of choice. These facilities contributed to several of my favorite memories as a Tiger.
What advice do you have for current or prospective FHSU students?
Get to know your professors, sit in the front two rows, and leverage career services.
Tell us about someone at FHSU who has left a lasting impression:
While each course and professor in the College of Business was impactful, I regularly think of Emily Breit, Cole Engel, Tony Gabel, and Sam Schreyer in my life and career. Their focus on not just memorizing material but intuitively understanding it and applying it in different ways and situations left a lasting impression.
In what ways are you proud to be a Tiger?
I am proud of the deep, small-town roots and values present throughout the campus, the university’s focus on providing high-quality education at an accessible price point, and now, as a Hays resident, the campus’s impact on the area communities and economies.
